After surfing for years in Humboldt Co. seeing seals, sea lions, and elephants seals dead on the beach with beer keg sized bites out of them I just asume that there are sharks in the ocean with me. Mostly for the sea lion issue when I land a fish, it gets bled through the scupper hole, wrapped in a damp towel, and stowed in the hatch. Then I use a sponge to rinse the deck down. Maybe this will stop a blood trail too. I see guys with fish strapped in plain sight in thier tank wells. Maybe that works but I have been "shopped" by huge dogs that lift themselves so high out of the water that they are looking down on me. I have no doubt that if I had had a fish on deck they would have come right in to my lap for it. Mike
