Yes he has Global Entry...

@ Robert;
So he is in line for one. That is great news for his next trip. Which I am sure he would like to do.

As for dinner we can decide in camp.

Depending on what time we get to Makoland and what time it is after I setup my camp (tent, cot, etc.), I may be able to serve the Persian dinner at camp.

It would require some preparation, but that way it will as fresh as possible.

I vote, MAKE IT FRESH, make it fresh, there will be time. We can eat when ever YOU are ready.

Being a local here in the Calexico border, we usually drop off the person who doesn't have the sentri pass right before you cross and they go through the pedestrian lane. It usually is a 10-15 min wait time. Then we just pick them up on the other side of the border. I know it is not the best scenario, but beats having to wait in a three hour back up. These coming weeks folks will be on spring break, so long backups. You can always check Border wait time at (760) 768-2383 or download the BWT app on your phone. If you you go through the east port there is no wait time on the pedestrian crossing, but you do have to walk around 1/4 mile to the gas station across the border. There are no parking signs on the road between the border crossing and the gas station. Do not stop and pick anyone up in that area. It can be a $250 mistake, speaking from experience. I'm informing you about the east port because during this time there is a long backup in the pedestrian line at the west port. Have a safe and fun trip and save some fish for when I go.

Chicken mole Sunday night at the restaurant.

Bob, I just picked up your table saw and will bring with me.

Building my support pipe rack for my tracrac...

Robert, I think your the nicest guy in the world now that you have a non global entry passenger.

This trip should be a blast!

Must be my "Aloha" spirit just got back from a two week stay in Hawaii. He may not think so when I dump him off and have him cross on foot. Kind of like that idea.

Does Aloha mean HELLO and Good Riddence?

MrPukaShell 03-30-2017 11:01 AM

It just might

Very nice of farreola to post a great tip.

As Robert being a nice guy, it is well kept secret.

I hope the wind cooperates.

Would not mind to test drive the Solo, and maybe an island trip.

Good times here we come.

Arkadash YOU will not be taking MY SOLO to the island, but the Gregor is good to go and holds three anglers. So the island IS within your reach. We may have a day or two of wind, but we can always hunker down and play games, like have a paint party. Tight Lines guy's.

Some pictures from the past trips to make the anticipation more exiting.

INM - FMM

Hey amigos

Don't forget to fill out your online FMM just incase they ask us for them at the border. If you fill it out and print now, it will save you the FMM fee which i think is around $25-$30 now and they will just stamp this printed out FMM and your good to go for 7 days.

https://www.inm.gob.mx/fmme/publico/en/solicitud.html

For consistency, here is how I filled mine out. You guys will need to modify your depart dates.

YES SENTRI is great wish I had done it YEARS ago, thanks guy's for lighting a fire under me to get one. Life is simpler with it. Tight Lines.

MrPukaShell 03-31-2017 01:16 PM

I still have one but if you are coming in to Mexico don't you have to stop to get it stamped? Only the one for 7 days or less is free from my understanding but it still needs to be stamped at the border.

YES you go thru checkpoint and it is on your left. Quick and easy stop. We will be stopping there.

Not sure if I understand your post but if you have purchased a 180 day FMM and it was stamped on a previous trip, you do not need it stamped again if it is still valid. Having it stamped is for folks that purchase the FMM online and then must have it stamped on the first entry to Mexico.

TRUE THAT

Mahigeer 03-31-2017 09:59 PM

I have mine, but it is almost impossible to read the stamp and the date. I will have to stop and see what they say. I am staying 8 days, so I will have to pay. It is a small part of the trip expense.

On a better note, the Persian food is in the frig. Be sure to bring your appetite.

My wife will be making the Persian salad in the morning.

Leaving LA around 9:00 PM tomorrow.
Meeting Bob at the Shell around 4:30 AM.
In between will try to persuade the lady luck at Pechanga Casino to smile---as well as take a break from driving.

Really looking forward to this trip. A good group of people as usual.

A long report to be posted here later.
