Anybody know where I can find some used equipment?

I just discovered my shed was broken in to and all my tackle is gone. I don't even know when this happened as I haven't even gone out to it in months.
Some of the stuff was old and out-dated anyway but I wasn't really thinking about dropping another several hundred dollars on tackle.
Anyway, I had 2 custom rods, one with a Daiwa Sealine, it was the smaller one for up to 30lb I think and the other had a Newell on it. I'd like to find something comparable to these if possible.

Everything else is needed as well. I'm looking for deals...Please let me know.

Thanks!

Huh?
From the post you replied to:

Hit up craigslist....ive got 2 rods and 2 reels i got from craigslist all quality stuff at good prices. just check it on the regular. Also i would suggest checking bloodydecks classified section as i have seen some good deals on used Cal-star rods and nice reels as well.

hit up T-bone...hes broke, you need gear. everybody wins

That is some funny s**t right there. Telling brokeloser to buy t-bones gear cause t-bone's more broke than brokeloser.

When I started fishing the kayak I was an unemployed broke loser so I just picked up a couple of penn 500 combos on sale at sports authority. That might be an option for ya.

fishsouthcounty 02-16-2011 07:27 PM

haha didnt even realize the irony in that....thanks for pointing it out though.

you can definitely find decent stuff if you put in the time lookin for it. good luck.

Funny

Sort of

I had to walk off a job because I havent been paid in 3 weeks...

T Bone 02-17-2011 06:44 AM

Actually that is pretty damn funny!

fishsouthcounty 02-17-2011 10:22 AM

haha nah man wasnt tryin to poke any fun at your misfortune... my dad spent the last 2 years on unemployment and has recently just started getting back into working self employed doing carpentry and general contracting gigs. Luckily he has a friend in commercial and residential painting otherwise he was about to sell his garage full of tools. Easily probably over 25,000 dollars worth of tool purchases over the last 30 years. Ive seen first hand how people in your field have been affected. Its tough. Good luck to you man, hope you find something so you dont have to get rid of all your gear.

TCS 02-17-2011 01:21 PM

T-Bone,

I know you've heard this a million times but... Usually these things work out okay, but I understand that its tough when it's happening. Been there myself recently. What kind of work to you do? Maybe somebody here could give you a lead...

In the meantime, hope you can take advantage of the time to do some fishing.

I am a finish carpenter with my C6 licence for Doors-Cabinets-Millwork.I have a great job coming up at Disney.Just have a few weeks till that starts. My last 4 months of taxes were not paid last year by my last hourly employer who also owes me for 3 weeks of work.I just turned in some billing for about $4K in work but that check will be a few weeks out too.

I do Cabinets(build or install)

Trim work of any kind Crown moulding, base, case,Chairrail, wainscot

Cabinet refacing

Mantles

Stairs

Doors of ANY type mild to wild. Will postpics of the last door I did for disney.

Quick story with the last door.

The original set of arched doors was a 60" opening with a pair of 30" doors. This is not an ADA compliant opening. The new door is 36" with 12" sidelights and a rixon floorcloser. What made this so difficult to install is that the original jamb stayed and the new door was scribed into the old opening. This is at the Village haus in fantasyland. This is a $22K door. All handmade and aged by flame and scrape. That was in Dec 2010.

old_rookie 02-17-2011 03:28 PM

Cool. Next time I'm up there I'll need to check out your work. Could be a few years yet...
