First drop, three cranks and BAM! Fish on with the white tady 4/0, 10 minutes later, get him to color! We were at about 165 ft deep, so I was surprised he came up that fast, thought it was going to be a longer fight. Steve gaffed him for me and helped me stow it in the gator hatch, and got a few otw pics! Thanks for your help Steve, it's your turn next! (We gotta go get some stripers at the lake sometime!)

Went 26.8lbs, 39 inches at the fork!

Congratulations on the first Kayak Yellow. They always taste better than any Yellow Tail you've had before. Enjoy!

See, no need to make a day of it. Just paddle out, catch a fish, and paddle back in.
Congratulations!

Yeah surprised still headed out. Checked wind and it looked nasty past 10am and didn't want to risk it. Congrads on yellow.

Nice fish! Where is that, San Clemente island? (;

What was in the stomach, did you look? Most likely nothing judging by how she inhaled that jig...

Yup. Some dudes flipped and lost their paddle! Wtf?? Why wouldn't you leash your paddle? That's your life line in the yak!

I never leash my paddle on launch and landings.... Too easy to get tangled in it if I roll. It's always leashed though when I'm fishing.

I almost flipped first attempt at launch. Jumped off in chest deep water, saw my short window of opportunity, jumped back on real fast and paddled like hell!

That dude lost it on the water! ?

Are you sure your showing me a stomach cavity that looks vaguely familiar ?? Just saying

Veni, vidi, vici

Nice. I love the story from the past week (past posts) about the planning, irons, locations, weather reports, then with this post....EXECUTION.
My friend always reminds of the "5 Ps" - proper planning prevents poor performance.
