I just edited the original thread

We're not camping, we're just arriving really early.

Like last year I will be arriving early enough to get a decent parking space. Most likely 2-3am.

easyday 04-06-2015 09:40 AM

I'll be there early.

makobob 04-06-2015 12:21 PM

Me too.

first timer questions

Hi guys, I will be fishing in the tourney for the first time this year, should I really get there at 2 or 3 am to procure a parking spot? or is that a little excessive?

I only live about 10 minutes away from OEX, and we have ample parking. If someone wants to meet at my house we can load your gear in my truck, and we can carpool down there. PM me if you are interested in carpooling. I'll post about that again when we get closer.

Cheers,
Bernie

Wow 2-3 am? It's 1-1/2 hours drive down for me.. on the road at 1am to make it for a 6am sign in.. crazy! Is resting your eyes considered sleeping?

Fish Taco 04-06-2015 05:51 PM

Seriously? No trailers?

Seriously? No trailers allowed? Can this be true?

I trailer my Stealth 14 everywhere... if true, this is going to be a problem for me... sh*t... Andy, can you confirm this please?

Iceman 04-06-2015 06:28 PM

The no trailers applies to overnight parking, vehicles only, no campers.

Iceman 04-06-2015 06:29 PM

I will probably roll in 5:30ish :D

ful-rac 04-06-2015 06:45 PM

You can park your trailer there....just as long as you pay for the ticket the cops give you.... !

Somebody with a trailer got a ticket last year...

There are a few trailer spots there near a small launch ramp. Parked my PA12 trailer there last year with no ticket. Plan on doing the same then launching and meeting everyone on the beach by the ball field.

Watch out for the sprinklers! :D

ful-rac 04-07-2015 12:48 PM

Ohhh the sprinklers.....

Note to self: When Jim says don't worry I'm a certified professional landscaper, and he assures you that he has turned off the sprinklers...don't believe him.

jorluivil 04-15-2015 07:49 PM

Say what...CHICKEN? :reddy::puke: Are you loco? :stupid: Or, are you high? :canabis:

  1. CBad, Cadillyak, EasyDay, Momo AND MakoRoberto (and I) are wondering if the fresh halibut steaks are already gone...and that's why the chicken...?:the_finger:

  2. I AM...going to ensure the irrigation doesn't affect us this year...:D

  3. YOU also got the 2L of 7-Up, right? My fav...:luxhello:

  4. Umm..."Jorgie"...while you're at it...dig deep into your deep freezer and pull out a half dozen medium sized vacuum sealed langosta too please. Our preference are medium's, so no need to bring the biggies, okay? KEY WORD...Please.

Thanks Buddy!

Jim

7 hours later...no response.

I would've thought there'd be a few guys wanting to hang with Jorge...3 time 40# butt killer, but no. I'm guessing the people are thinking...look at this guy...he's freaking asleep and gets bit...did he really catch that fish or did he just drift off and get lucky...?

It's just you and me. My Kamprite or yours? Jim

Yup, the sprinklers came on right about 5 A.M. and stayed on for about 10 minutes.
