Gonzaga in September

25 September thru 1 October. As Baja cools off the fishing is still HOT. YT, Bass, Cabrilla, Skippys, possible Dorado. Whale sharks and turtles too. Great time to fish Gonzaga.

This is the SECOND most popular trip each year. The temps have dropped into the 80's and almost all species are available. A great time to enjoy life in Baja. Post here to join this trip to PARADISE. Tight Lines.

Gr8fuldude 07-25-2016 06:52 PM

Count me in!

Roberto,

I don't know why no one has signed up for this trip, the fishing should be ridiculous! Count me in as signed up for this one, brotha!!!

As usual, I can take a dinner en el restaurante! :cheers1:

Paul

Knock on wood, so far been very few days where we were blown off this year. Twice we lost two days out of the week, but we were still able to fish from the beach, in fact one of those days we took YT from our beach. Tight lines.

No, we are fine, remember the light for fish cleaning table. WINDS TO 15 mph

Gr8fuldude 09-11-2016 07:43 AM

Hola Roberto,

I had to run the gauntlet of the bosses (the one at work and the one at home), but I can still make the Sept trip. Unfortunately, I won't be able to get there until Sunday around 1400 hours, and I'll have to leave Thursday a.m. instead of Saturday.

I'm disappointed I won't be there for the entire week, but since making this trip was in doubt for a minute, I'm glad I'll be able to go at all. I've got some making up to do with the boss at home, for sure.

Looking forward to hanging out, hermano!

Please let me know what supplies are needed at your place (water? propane?) as well as any recent fishing reports including what lures to bring.

maquinapescado 09-11-2016 07:37 PM

I might actually be down to go if I am welcome. I have a crazy amount of shit going on. Moving, new baby and etc etc etc...... This might be a last chance to hit good trip for a little while.

How is the access to your locacion for a Subaru Impreza?

MrPukaShell 09-12-2016 05:51 AM

The access is fine and Mako has a 4 wheel drive if you get stuck. Go for it you won't be disappointed. Congrats on the baby

Maquina, your impreza should be fine, I've taken my subaru outback on multiple trips down to Bob's place with no issues. Okay I did get stuck once but that was due to my own foolishness tempting fate on a distant stretch of beach. No worries though, I was quickly assisted by some cool gringos and it all just added to the adventure. I highly recommend this trip if you are on the fence.

Nothing ventured.......

makobob 09-14-2016 08:02 PM

Maquina, lots of room at the inn, just let me know so I can give you cooking food help. JUST back, guys the fish are FULL of bait, MICRO BAIT, 1-2 inchers. Got a skipjack tuna, tons of sierra around so steel leaders are needed. Small jigs and flys will get bit. Tight Lines

3 Brothers paddled to island and had FISH BOWL, seeing bottom, and fish in 30-40 feet of water. NICE and CLEAR.

Dannowar 09-14-2016 08:40 PM

WELCOME you are!!!! ALL roads are in good shape. Last mile is off road on a very passable graded dirt road. 2 wheel drive will get you to parking within 30 feet of camp if you pay attention to one area of soft sand. Tight Lines.

I killed a scorpion just like that there in June. It scared the crap out of me and I smashed it. Right inside the house too, under a packing blanket.

It had me wondering what to do in case of an emergency so I googled it and it kinda looks like a bark scorpion. Can anyone confirm what type of scorpion that is?

The colors are a bit different but they look the same.

A search said the bark scorpions were the most venomous and deadly if not treated immediately

makobob 09-22-2016 07:47 PM

Danny that looks like the one that was living under the whale butt bone by the ramada.

I believe he means North, as in the northern Sea of Cortez as opposed to Panama. Costa Rica, PV or Mazatlán etc.

Danny, did you happen to get me a picture of the snapper and did you get a weight?

Dannowar 09-23-2016 11:49 AM

Weight was 25. Didn't take too many pics but you know where it came from.
