Tarpon 160 w/ rudder and Color sonar

Need some cash and room on the kayak rack so im selling my Sand colored Tarpon 160 w/rudder. Kayak has been used about a dozen times and is in good shape, very dry inside. Seat is faded and such but nothing wrong with it at all. It is a 2009 model (there have been no changes to the boat since this was made). Has 2 installed flushmounts.

Includes a Lowrance M67c sonar on Ram mount. Ill even throw in a battery for the sonar.

1100.00 OBO (seriously, make an offer)

Also have paddles and pfd's if you needed that. Just need to clear some space and get some cash together to dump into my truck is all.

Are you selling the PFD? is so What PFD and size? price?
Thanks in advance

Siebler 11-22-2010 10:29 AM

yeah actually I do have that PFD in storage. It is an Extrasport Osprey in lg/xl. Only used like 3-4 times. 40.00 and its yours.

Siebler 11-25-2010 07:00 PM

1000obo anybody?

Siebler 12-01-2010 12:50 PM

900.00

SGV Rookie 12-01-2010 01:37 PM

WHAT A DEAL

That is an awesome deal! Tarpon 160 is an awesome kayak and throw in the rudder! Wow. If I had the money I would swoop it up as a second T160. Let me know if you can do a nine month lay away?

dmrides 12-01-2010 04:19 PM

Damn...

Some one is going to be stoked. T160 with a rudder and a fishfinder for 900? That is one hell of a deal.

Siebler 12-01-2010 04:26 PM

yeah I need the money pretty bad right now. 900.00 will almost exactly pay for the 2 new shocks for my truck.

On the same lines, Im open to trades if for some reason a BWE member has a set of 2.5x16" Remote Resi or Bypass shocks. Maybe we can work out a trade that include shocks or something. Would prefer some King or SAW shocks.

Iceman 12-01-2010 05:03 PM

Got it!............

Never mind I looked again and it was just an old coo-coo clock instead. :biggrinjester:

Siebler 12-01-2010 06:26 PM

Damn Iceman I got all excited!

Gotta get my shocks so I can do the bedcage on my truck. Got all the parts except them and it is driving me nuts.

frugalfisher 12-01-2010 08:30 PM

How 'bout the paddles?

Mine broke in half on Thanksgiving. I need a new one and maybe a spare.

Your kayak?

wiseguy 12-02-2010 07:04 AM

Would you be willing to throw in a decent paddle? The ones with a bend in them? I know I'm stretching it, but its worth a try and I also have to ask the wifey too! doh!:(

wow, really? you want a bent shaft paddle for free on an already awesome deal? This is a great kayak and about $700 cheaper than buying new.

Siebler 12-05-2010 08:29 AM

Yeah sorry I cant throw in a paddle, especially not a Bent shaft. The cheapest bent shaft I own is 480.00.

What is the chest measurement on that size goolge is not helping me today?

Siebler 12-05-2010 02:38 PM

Looks like its actually a XL/XXL so 46"-56". Ill double check that its XL/XXL and not M/L when I get home.

Yeah, i know. I've read up on it and the only thing I dont like is the weight capacity.

I ended up getting a Wilderness Systems Ride 135 for a heck of a deal. Thanks for sending me the pictures anyways.

dgax65 12-05-2010 08:53 PM

How does that thing surf? If you still have it after I move and after I get the new rifle and after I get the new scope, I'll take it off your hands. I could probably use a sleek, sporty kayak strictly for paddling. Lord knows I wouldn't be able to fish from it. The weight of my tackle box alone would probably swamp it. Is the load capacity really only 375#? I can't believe that. I think I saw Dave Easton with at least 375lbs of WSB on his T160 once. You couldn't even see the kayak; it looked like he was straddling a raft made of lashed-together WSB.

Anyway.....let me know if you still have it when January rolls around.

Wilderness systems uses a recommended OPERATING weight for their maximum capacity. other manufacturers mark the weight capacity as when the kayak will sink, and cannot really be paddled...

In other words, i would have no problem using a tarpon 160 with 375lbs on deck, but I would not use another brand of kayak to their limit. make sense?

Interesting, thx for sharing.

SGV Rookie 12-06-2010 07:48 AM

WS Weight

I have a Tarpon 160 and Love it. Weight capacity is very high in my standards. I weigh 250, then add five gallons of water in the bait tank, tackle, rods, emergency equipment and layered clothes. The thing floats and performs well with all of that. I can't say much when I have fish on board because I don't catch much.

Right on Doug, ill let you know for sure.. Selling this thing will probably be paying for my Utah tags for our hunt too. On that subject, I just sent you an email that may get you excited even more so haha

fishin' fool 12-06-2010 06:09 PM

I've been watching this post and can't believe it's still not sold yet. One hell of a good deal right there. :cheers1:

Ok, I know I shouldn't buy another yak, but I gotta have it.

Since you won't throw in a bent shaft paddle how about you come over every weekend with "my new kayak" on the top of your car and drive me to the beach and ya know, kinda hang out until I want a ride home. Deal? :sifone:

Waiting your reply. :pcguru:

Good luck selling her....

I had a 160 once...traded it plus some cash for a second Revo (want to sell it back, Dave?) The 160 surfs just fine. Great ride, extremely comfortable and fast too. However, it was the first yak I flipped in.

SGV Rookie 12-29-2010 05:47 PM

Sorry

Sorry roger, I love the tarpon. I feel a bit more comfortable in it than the revo. Your welcome to borrow it until you get another yak

Siebler 12-30-2010 09:33 PM

So I have all the parts ready to do my rear leaf springs and bed cage except shocks. They are almost exactly 800.00. If you have 800 cash and contact me you could have yourself a new kayak. One hell of a deal for a 160 with rudder and sonar....

fishin' fool 12-31-2010 08:07 AM

$800.00? I can't believe it's still on the market at $1,000.00.

Don't make me drive out there.

Yeah pretty crazy to me. The market isn't THAT stagnant, we are still selling new boats....

T Bone 01-03-2011 11:20 AM

I like that FF too.I had one but lost it somehow at SCI:(

LoneFish 01-03-2011 11:55 AM

I WANT THIS! but I have no way to pick it up:(. The ride's still in the shop, going on 4 wks now:mad:.

Siebler 01-03-2011 01:33 PM

Where do you live? Maybe we can work something out.

MarkT 01-03-2011 02:03 PM

I know the time of year and the economy aren't helping but I can't believe you still have it. I've been tempted to drive down and get it but I don't have a rack to carry it on top of my Trailblazer. Of course, you sell those too, right?
