Sorry for the "greenie" question. But what exactly does this mean? Can't fish LJ anymore or can't keep fish you catch in that area?
|
They can kiss my ass ,I am fishing wherever I want...

This is a very general map of the closures, I have yet to find a more detailed map: http://www.dfg.ca.gov/mlpa/pdfs/scmpas121510.pdf |
Wiseman you pompous, arrogant disrespecting prick
That about sums it up...
No, Wussman was not part of the DFG (at least, as far as we know...:hmmmm:...) but his antics along with others made it quite apparent that this was one well scripted but poorly acted out show...you never once had us convinced that you were looking out for our best interests, and taking our voices into consideration. In the old days, if the performance stunk, the actors would get pelted with rotten fruit and vegetables. But of course we had to play along, to no avail. You didn't play us kook, we knew exactly how much you planned to phook us, hence the need for all of the DFG bodyguards, you were all just a bunch of scared beyotches. And at the curtain call? You were all smothered with bodyguards...were you that afraid, was that at the point of the final performance, that you realized we'd figured it out? We should of gone ghetto on your arses long before that...we knew what you were doing, unfortunately, had we reacted the way we wanted to, and should of when someone is about to be phooked, you beyotches would have played it against us. We fought your fight, and lost. Guess what? When Sugar Ray fought Duran's fight and lost, not by a knockout but by a decision, he came back and fought his fight...we all know the outcome. I'll be saving a rotten tomato for you, Ken... In a 4-1 vote, Commissioners selected this day to better inform affected ocean users of the new regulations in the South Coast Study Region, which spans from Point Conception in Santa Barbara County to the U.S./Mexico border. Commissioner Daniel Richards was the only vote in opposition. Thank you Mr. Richards, but we knew all along how this would play out. You sir were the only one who could not be bought...:notworthy: If you are ever in the mood for fresh fish, I am certain many a kayker would be happy to oblige... |
I'll be carrying a copy with me whenever I'm out fishing.
CALIFORNIA CONSTITUTION ARTICLE 1 DECLARATION OF RIGHTS Section 25. ”The people shall have the right to fish upon and from the public lands of the State and in the waters thereof, excepting upon lands set aside for fish hatcheries, and no land owned by the State shall ever be sold or transferred without reserving in the people the absolute right to fish thereupon; and no law shall ever be passed making it a crime for the people to enter upon the public lands within this State for the purpose of fishing in any water containing fish that have been planted therein by the State; provided, that the legislature may by statute, provide for the season when and the conditions under which the different species of fish may be taken.” |

There's an implementation date, but this isn't the last word. Bob Fletcher, UASC and Coastside are 3-0 in the legal battle. Vote in favor of the fight here: http://www.oceanaccessprotectionfund.org
For LJ, this means paddling out past the point. The pier remains open for bait only. Everything else past the pier is closed, as is La Jolla south of Windansea. Maps, with understandable boundaries at this link: http://www.wonews.com/Blog.aspx?id=9...exclusive-maps |
The entire coast from NPH to Dana will be closed.
Who do these people think they are? |
This maybe a dumb question, but how can you implement a closure when there is a legal challenge in court that has not been ruled upon?
Combat 101 - Never give up any ground you already have....you never get it back... |
Can this issue be put on a ballot for other Californians to vote on.
I don't think its fair, that a small group of people can make a decisions that affect so many others... |

Even in the unlikely event that an issue like this was to be put on the ballot, I am not sure the results would go our way. The opposition has lots of money to spend on marketing their point of view and the general public that is very ignorant when it comes to this subject. Most would not take the time to learn the real facts. I like the idea of carrying around a copy of the constitution. That would be an interesting defense should someone get popped for fishing in one of the MLPA closed zones. Bob |
Its almost why even buy a kayak or fishing gear anymore. Sound like a waste of money now as we cant fish in the easy to reach areas.. How far out into the ocean does the closer goes??? If it become too much of a headache to go fishing then you go fishing less often..
Maybe we could just go and watch the fish.. |

Does legal Medical pot or Gay marriage ban both being overruled by the judges sound familiar? The same will happen if we vote this crap law out. I'm with the others... I'll fish where I've always fished. The DFG won't have the manpower to keep this enforced for long, even if they make a show enforcement in the beginning. I hate to be that guy, but this country is going to hell quick style. Alas, our once great state is leading the charge. Willy |
