I am in the same boat, looking to hit La Jolla for the first time in my new yak this weekend as well. We could buddy up I guess but it would be a case of the blind leading the blind. =)

Im going Saturday, on the sand by 5am, in the water by 530am. I'm going to hit Black beach for halibut and maybe the kelp beds for some YT if there are no bites.
