Some of these enviro posse members may deliberately or mistakenly report you're in an MPA when you're in the clear. Record CF numbers and photograph those who interfere, and report them to the DFG.

I was on the receiving end of this kind of misinformed MPA "enforcement" in the Channel Islands a few years ago. The moment our group landed at Scorpion, we were treated with suspicion and even outward hostility.

This is actually pretty hilarious. Yeah that makes sense. Burn through fifty gallons of diesel to run up to point Dume, just to tell some kayaker he's fishing on the wrong side of some arbitrary line. What ever happened to conserving fossil fuels, and lowering carbon emissions.

The fuel dock is going to love these idiots.

I mean on top of that check out the boom and net. That boat is a commercial either live fish (trap), squid or lobster. I think I know that boat and it's not their boat.

That means they are chartering it.

They can produce all the propaganda they want, go out there and shoot a few photo ops for the papers to keep the funds rolling in but they are not going to be able to spend the kind of money it would take to get that boat out there on a daily basis. I can see it now: "Send us money so we can enforce the MLPA" the whole thing is just obvious bulsh!t!! designed to pander to their base constituency.
