Stuipd question, please help.......
My Cobra Explorer had a little crack on the back, water did get in after Monday morning in Newport.
So i got some repair material from Cobra, going to use solder iron and fill the crack, but after i was reading the instruction from Cobra, its saying. "IF YOU ARE REPAIRING A CRACK, YOU WILL FIRST NEED TO “V” THE OPENING OF THE CRACK TO GAIN ACCESS TO THE INSIDE OF THE CRACK." I really not sure what is "V" the opening of the crack means........do i first use iron to open the crack and fill it back with the material? |
To "v" is to cut down into the crack at an angle on both sides of the crack as to make a V, yes you are making a larger (but not much) area as to allow the bond to penatrate, check with someone in the know though,
I have plastic welded cracks around handles and such, I guess it depends on the location of the crack and how large of an area I know Cobras are pretty thin in some spots...:reel: |
hopefully this will help
