i never even heard of these guys until looking at pics of icast on BD.

Jackson makes an awsome kayak. I have had the pleasure of paddling the cusa down a moderate class 2 white water river and fished the whole way. Paddle down some rapids, spin 180 at the bottom and pitch a bait up the same rapid. Super stable. I also brought a cuda with me to San Diego a few months ago, it was great. The seat is super comfy. With the seat in the high position I never felt unstable. The best part of the yak was the tracking and the speed. It really impressed me? I haven't tried the big tuna yet but I heard that it was great. Jackson is made in the USA and has been on the white water scene for a long time.

Ya looks like hobie did a knockoff of their seat design.

Sweet boat. Like the deck layout for the rods.

PAL Donated one to HOW San Diego. It is a very nice boat however everybody who has paddled it tends to agree it is not really a boat youd want for La Jolla.

Jackson is very popular on the gulf coast and such. Never hear any complaints about them.

I just like the seat

Native had a high profile "lawn chair" style seat years before Jackson introduced the Cuda. Jackson evolved the idea by offering high and low seat mounting positions.

Hobie's PA12 seat is generations beyond either of the simple Jackson or Native designs. It's trick! So much adjustability, and it stows out of the way.

My point is merely that the manufacturers have been building on their competitors' designs since the first sit-on-tops hit the beach. I wonder... what's next?

Jackson's boats have influenced the industry much like Malibu fishing-first deck designs did. I think they're great for rivers and east coast / gulf coast flats. Good thinking - that's where most of the market lives.
