My last renewal took 6 months due to multiple errors on the post office. First they shipped to my old address in Monterey, Ca even though i had handled all the proper change of address forms. Then they destroyed it so i had to wait for a new one to be made and shipped. Find out 2 months later it was never reoordered due to agent error and i had to then wait 2 more months for it to arrive.

At least there was no credit/debit cards...thats the worst. Hope someone does the right thing and you guys get it back.

Yeah only works if the phone has power. We are pretty sure its soaked so its fried.
On a good note we have the replacement phone on its way and just bought the lifeproof case from amazon on the link provided on the forum so if it does go swimming again it will still be powered up. She made an appt for the DMV for wed as that was the 1st opening they had but is going to a local branch tomorrow as a walk in to try her luck.
Thanks for all the help.

Crap Tim, I put you on my ignore list just in case she reads this thread. :D

Congats!!! do i get to come off the ignore list now???

glad to hear you guys got it all back. Restore some faith in humanity...not only did they decide to turn it in, but they even paid postage to mail a letter of confirmation.

Don't forgot to keep that new DL in a safe spot in case it happens again.

Yeah Tim your off.
turns out it was a 12 year old that found it, handed it off to his mom who sent the letter.I told my wife to hit up the ATM on the way, in addition to the cash that was still in the case add to it to equal what we had to pay for the new phone. Hope it reinforces the good moral values that that family showed. A little faith in mankind has been restored. :cheers1:

A while ago I dropped my wallet in a Sport Chalet parking lot. It had almost 600 bucks in it (rare event for me:))

I was sure I would not see the money ever again.

Two hours later a twelve year old kid calls me up and says he found it.

Arrive at the kid's house, meet him at the door, his dad is standing a few feet back in the hallway.

The kid says "Sir, I found your wallet and I think that you may need it, I researched your number on the internet, here it is."

I look inside every penny is still there, wow!

After talking to the kid I found out that his dad let him handle it all by himself, gave him complete freedom to do with it what he wanted.

I hope that I can raise my kids that way! There are a few good people out there.

Yeah, the kid got taken care of with a little gift.:D

Wow, that is awesome. There still may be some hope for Humanity...LOL

I found a wallet while fishing with my dad when I was a kid. Had a bunch of cash in it, and a 500$ check written to cash in it which at the time was a chunk of change. Did the right thing and found the owners number in the Yellow pages and called him. He came by to pick it up and didn't even say thank you when I handed him the wallet.

Your story ended much better!

Same thing happened to me working at a golf course in Monterey....well over a G in cash plus multiple credit cards i coulda worked over. Personally handed it over with not so much as a handshake.
