Cheap headlamps
I just visited Costco in San Juan Capo and found a pack of 3 LED headlamps (batteries included) with 3 modes (dim, bright, strobe) for $9.69. With lobster season coming up I bought a set. Usually have an out-of-towner or noobie join me during the season and can also have a back-up in the car for hooping, roadside emergency, tire change, etc. Also use them for camping, grunion hunting, or working hands-free at night. They aren't waterproof so I'll just have to keep my head above water!

I'm done buying those cheap lights, I invested in a Black Diamond Storm headlamp. Those cheap headlamps are exactly that, cheap. Save your money and invest in something that is waterproof and will last you more than one season

Im not done with those cheap HEADLAMPS.
Put a nice cheap one, put some good batteries in it. MARINE glue it and it will last you a long time. |
They have the same ones at home depot.
For 10 bucks you are set for 2 years. Ten bucks every couple years is a pretty good deal. One breaks, you toss it without thinking about it. |
I saw that set at Costco. Although not water-resistant, they looked like they were pretty good quality.

how many lumens do they put out?

Most of those cheap ones are only 25 lumens, after 2-3 uses I'm sure they're under 10 lumens, that's why I stopped buying them. |
It's a good thing California is big. Lots of room for new landfills.

There are no such things as grunion in DP or lobster in Viking's kayak :eviltongue:
