Lesson Learned
5 Attachment(s)
Last week I was very excited to get my brand new hobie PA 12. I had no problem using my rhino t loader and securing it on my van. Ha! I thought to myself, all you haters that said this boat was to heavy to car top, take that!
Attachment 9362 Attachment 9363 I was also able to take it off no problem. Next day I tried to load it and go fishing. All was well to my knee buckled and the boat slipped off the rack and hit my liftgate. How much damage can a kayak do? Well take a look. Attachment 9364 Attachment 9365 That, my friends is $2000 worth of kayak induced dents. $500 after my deductible but still hurts. Not willing to give up I sold the t loader, saddles and roof rack for the same price as this Attachment 9366 Now I think I am ready to fish. Hope to see you all out there soon! |
That sux, I hope your knee is alright.

Thank God the Kayak didn't get damaged:D.

Thanks Frank. Just a few scratches. I'm ok with that, just like scratching up a new 4x4. Now it's ready to fish!

Sorry to see that.
I had a close call the first time I took mine off. Thus, now I use a tarp to prevent scratches. I don’t know if it will prevent damage like yours, but at least it won’t scratch. |
i load my 14 on my roof rack no problem. its super simple and Drake made a video on how to load and unload effortlessly.
i have a trailer too though, and it makes it a bit easier. as long as there is adequate parking. |
