Anyone have any experience with them?

Found one for sale its 8' 15-40# med. fast for $40

I didn't know Avet made rods

I forget if they were a Big 5 exclusive. But they are made overseas and sold as a private label rod for Avet. Nothing special to em. Great beater rod or to loan out. Like with any rod it should last you awhile with a good freshwater rinse and towel dry after each trip. Big 5 has a decent return policy from my experience. Nothing much to lose at $40.

I don't know if they are still going but big 5 had a sale on shimano voltaeus rods. I picked one up for 22 bucks, normally 60.

Big thing was going in with the rods at big 5 in the beginning of the year that a article came out sayin the rods that said avet where not made by avet

Remember reading about this on BD. I think Avet just whored their name out to some cheap china manufacturing deal. $40 bucks is $40 bucks though. Give it a nice bendo test in the store:D

I picked a few up from big 5 a few months back for cheap and ended up throwing them in the rafters. They'll serve as backup rods for when I have friends go out with me in my backup yak. NOTHING special
