cleaning leads?

Any advice on cleaning electrical connections for fish finders if they get a little salt water corrosion on them? Alcohol?

Hope about preventative product? Vaseline, silicone or other lube that won't affect the connection?

Thanks

Soak in vinegar to clean the corrosion off if its not too bad.

Dielectric grease to prevent the corrosion.

Oxidized connectors are hard to clean because the oxidation is part of the metal. A little fine steel wool should work or try DeoxIT to chemically remove the oxidation.

After cleaned, use some dielectric grease or PreservIT to protect the connections.

Spay WD40 on cable connector that will get rid of the corrosion than always apply dielectric grease and make sure there is some in the contact holes of the connector when you're done using it. Once you clean it the use of the grease keeps them clean and protected.

Also always disconnect the battery first and do not leave it connected while the fish finder is still plugged in. It causes electrolysis.
