San vicente update on opening?

Curious what the progress is on san vicente opening up. Anyone know?

don't hold your breath. I'll even go so far to say that they won't open it up to boating/kayak at all. And if they do it will be like diamond valley. Would'nt want to dirty up their new water. hope I'm wrong.

Haha yea small window. Let me clarify, I know when they said it will be done, but does anyone know the PROGRESS? Maybe a new updated eta date

I heard on NPR that they are possibly going to build a hydroelectric generation station. If it gets approved, it will be closer to the 2017 date I bet.

They are going to use a pump to move the water up to a higher elevation reservoir at night while electricity is cheap, then let it flow back down to SV during peak hours to generate for peak usage times.

Only ones who have been fishing that reservoir are the Barona locals; it has had no pressure since the closure. Guaranteed there are 25 lb large-mouth in SV!

When this lake opens, there will be a mass rush to it.

heard they're working on the foundations for the marina. once thats done, they'll have to wait for a bit so that the reservoir fills up to its 'new' capacity. how long will that take? no clue..
