umbrella as a bimini on the PA14
1 Attachment(s)
DIY for those who does not want to spend a lot of money for a hobie bimini. Use an umbrella large enough and a piece of foam cut to fit the back of the seat. This can also be use as a lumbar support.
If it gets too windy fold n put away or used it as a sail. Cost is $30 or less depending on your noodle n umbrella. This takes the beating from being baked out in the sun. I tested this last Sunday at newport but with a 60" umbrella. |
If you're worried about the sun, check out th AFTCO fish ninja shirt. Only shirt I wear on the yak these days...

We're headed to Gonzaga in June and we've talked about building some sort of canopy for the kayaks.
I like the idea but I think that it would be a little more comfortable if you someone strapped it to the back of the seat, I'm sure that's going to get uncomfortable after a while. |
Great idea, stuff like this is usually posted under the "share your innovations" thread.

Didn't felt like it irritated me. Actually felt more luxury and made fishing more pleasantly. I'm not worry about getting dark but hate the sun draining your energy. Cause the heat from the sun slowly beat you down but with some shade I felt like I can fish all day and still have energy.
