After the Storm
Soaked 1 bait in 2 days, and fished for treasure the other 11 hours. Turns out the first and last couple minutes of each day provided the only entertainment. Although I did snag the weirdest looking creature I have seen recently (no pics though). Got to play in some moderate surf with short intervals on Sun.

AWESOME Greg. You the man.

I hang to the left as well. Great video.

Great video... I think I'll try coming in nose-first even if the surf is a little bigger - the last time I tried the "come-in backwards" technique it didn't end so well.
Do you just lean into it? |
The music was perfect!!
Hope that kayaker was OK in the kill zone. |
wow.. that's a perfect text book lean-in the surf. thanks for sharing.
Just curious, How do you position your paddle when do lean and dig your paddle in. Is it perpendicular to surface to slow down the boat so you don't surf in front of the wave then flip? |
Nice Benihana @ 2:34 seconds!

Good job Greg, I also found my self leaning hard left in my office chair.
Almost fell out of my chair Great stuff!!! :luxhello: :kayak-surfer: |
Just another little note: You can ride up the sand by leaning into a shore break coming down on you while you are beached . It can beat those times you jump out trying not to get pummeled, only to find that your legs are not working yet. Or worse jump out on the wrong side of your yak and get pummeled by it.

Just make sure you guys all realize that your kayak needs to have water going completely under it when side washing or you will catch an edge and eat it harder than coming straight in. Think of it like a snowboard. When I had my outback it was a little easier to slide in sideways but you really need to commit to leaning into the wave.
Nice video Greg! The master at work!! |
