Nice vid jorge. You make catching spotties look easy. Great seeing you and the sewer crew again. Missed roby though.

Great picts. Jorge, it was nice meeting you after all the posts I've read in the past. I know what you mean about doing 3 different things, I didn't take enough still pict. The biggest problem was not checking the setting on my Go Pro and had video set to 14:5 and when I downloded the video it would be black and all it had was audio. It took two days of messing with the video on I Movie to convert it so as to make a movie. Then the majority of the time it's me paddling from place to place with a few short spotties and lizard fish. Next time I have to think to take more picts and make sure it's on 1080P to avoid all the hassle with the video. I guess I'll get better the more I use the Go Pro I just got it so it's another toy to learn to use well. Cool video. Tight Lines. Mark

I tried standing on my Malibu like that but I'm so wobbly. That, and standing up from such a low seat is hard on the old knees.

One of the things that I do now is that I leave my GP running regardless of whats going on. Obviously, there are advantages and disadvantages to doing this.

First and foremost you will go through a few batteries in a day. You will need to make sure you have fully charged batteries before you get on the water, I usually carry one in the camera and two spare, this will easily get me through a 6hour session.

Second, I DO NOT save all of the video that I record. If I have the camera running for an hour and nothing happened I will delete that footage, this will give me a fresh/empty memory card. Although I can get a little more than 5hrs of video on a 16gb card I chose to not keep video of me just cruising around. However, if I manage to capture some video and I want to keep it I will stop recording once that part of the session is done. As an example, if I've had the camera on for an hour and I get hooked up on a fish I will turn the camera off then on once I'm done putting the fish away.

I dont usually mess around with the video settings, I set and forget it. When I first got my GP I was playing around with the video settings. Well, everything worked fine at home (obviously) but when I was on the water and ready to record the camera wouldn't respond.........go figure.

Thanks for the tips with the GP Jorge. I do have 3 batteries and 2 x 32gb cards. I like the stop after an event tip that sould make it easier to find at the end of clips instead of having to watch the whole video when nothing happened. I edited out a lot of the paddling around video but upon watching the end movie I figured there was still too much of that on the movie. I will certainly not have so much in the future and that is why I need to remember to take more stills so as to tell more off of a story. If you are really trying to catch fish to have a chance at the tournament, there isn't much time to spend figuring out what to take for videos. Hope to see you at another event soon. Mark
