I thought these new rubber pocket frames were replacing the old style, but I only have seen them on the new PA.

I'm not digging the skeg and rail.

Why didn't they just make the skeg the rudder?

YakDout 09-13-2014 02:53 PM

The skeg is to help tracking in addition to the rudder.

Thanks Captain Obvious:D

I'm aware of that but why not make it a 2 in 1 and call it a Skudder? Can't wait to see the reviews on it. Obviously, a legit review would have to come from someone that had a 2014 or earlier PA.

Andy, do you know why they went with a longer rail?

YakDout 09-13-2014 03:08 PM

Or how about a reg?

That sounds a little better

I think hobie probably did some research and development. If you know something they don't maybe you should apply 😃

A Skudder:p

Nice rig period. I wouldn't mind trading up my PA for the new one.

rudder steers better from the rear skeg tracks better closer to the middle

do both and you don't lose anything only the benefit of both

Just an observation for those about to jump on one. That rail is going to have to be jumped over to get into, and out of the boat. Looks like they really don't consider this a surf launch vehicle. But I am sure somebody will think a hand rail where your feet are is priceless?

I guess you just have to put it on the low tide mark and wait for high tide to pick you up:confused:
