Finding Yellowtail
I guess I'll treat this post like I tell my kids...I brought you into this world and I can take you out! So, I take it out.
So before you go start asking where, when and how....hows about you tell us about the yellowtail you have been catching out at north county? 70ft huh?
Inquiring minds want to know
You've already said too much
You don't find the yellowtail, they find you.

Fight Club
so......don't talk about fight club?
can't believe you mentioned Solana beach... that's like talking about WSB in the Cardiff kelp.. or halibut off Carlsbad...
oh dear... |
I'm surprised no one has mentioned Oceanside harbor for yellowtail.
Great. Now the harbor is going to be a zoo.

At least if you launch at Solana........and land intact....well, in mine opinion, you earned it. That area is tricky, I know of at least one mirage drive lost in the surf there. But then again, it could be flat as a lake on any given day.
Sounds like I've got a lot of new spots to check out.
I seen a few yakers out there Sunday!

I remember reading about that...they came back with goggles and fins and found his gear. And I couldn't agree more on the opinion about launching...I laugh so hard watching people try to launch when the sets are pushing through. Patience is key, that current rips out of the lagoon....and there is no channel when going out that way...that would have made for good filming.
My favorite is collecting all the gear people loose when launching...then hand it back to them out on the fishing grounds. Most of the time they have not even realized they lost their gear. |
That was my cousin haha
