how do you guys freeze your lobsters?

Do you guys freeze them whole? Or break off the tail first?

Thanks in advance for any input!

Nevermind how you freeze lobsters...tell us where you caught your lobsters... !

Flash boil the tails for 60 seconds then throw them immediately in an ice bath to stop the cooking. Then I cut off the barbs and vacuum seal.

This would apply to any crustacean. While its still alive, seperate the tail from the head, remove the entrails, vacuum seal, then toss in the freezer.

If you leave the head on the digestive enzymes will cause the meat to turn mushy and not particularly tasty.

I break the tails off
fold some paper towels over and place them over the barbs
stick each tail in a bag and seal the bag using my vacuum chamber sealer

I individually wrap in wax paper then 69 them. the barbs are less likely to break the vacuum bag in overlapped in pairs.

I tail mine, cut off the barbs then vacuum seal. I freeze them individually.

Tail it, 69 them, wrap in foil and toss in the freezer. Personal preference after that no science to it.
