This Is How I Do It
Here's how I seal my lobster
I typically do this on the tail gate of my truck or I'll get out some saw horses and law down a piece of plywood 1. Lay an old shirt or towel down to catch the lobster gooooo:ack2: https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-J...no/14%2B-%2B16 2. I got a hold of one of these bread trays, I will lay the lobster on it once they're cut and let the goooooo:drool5: drip out https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-v...no/14%2B-%2B15 3. I cut the bottom membrane of the lobster from one side to the other, its not necessary but it makes it a bit easier when you twist the tail off the carapace. https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-I...no/14%2B-%2B14 https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-6...no/14%2B-%2B13 4. Once the lobster has been de-tailed I will break off one of the antenna and cut-off about 2/3 of the antenna(discard flexible portion). Next, I will insert the antenna in the anus, shove it in as far as possible:D and turn in 1-2 times  https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-9...no/14%2B-%2B12 5. As you start to pull the antenna out you will be pulling out the intestine, once its completely out you can discard this. https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-w...no/14%2B-%2B11 https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-G...no/14%2B-%2B10 6. I will take some paper towels and fold side over side twice. Once the towel has been folded over I will place the towel over the bottom portion of the tail and cover the spines/thorns/pointy things that hurt when they stick you.....yes, I'm speaking from experience:( https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-g...-no/14%2B-%2B9 https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-I...-no/14%2B-%2B8 6-A. If the tail is wider than the tail do not fold the towel over twice. After folding it over once take approximately 1/3 of each side of the towel and fold it over. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-M...-no/14%2B-%2B2 https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-F...-no/14%2B-%2B7 7. Place tail inside the vacuum bag https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-m...-no/14%2B-%2B6 8. Place bag inside your Vacmaster VP112 https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-A...-no/14%2B-%2B5 9. Seal bag <a href="<iframe width=" 640"="" height="480" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/kkzJD30nBtI" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="">"><a href="<iframe width=" 640"="" height="480" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/kkzJD30nBtI" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen=""><iframe src="//www.youtube.com/embed/kkzJD30nBtI" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="480" width="640"></iframe> |

Do you eat the paper towel afterwards?
|
Can you include a photo of you pressing the "ON" button.
How do you place them in the freezer? North-south or east-west? Can the lobster be next to the chicken or should I place a barrier in between? :D |
Quote:
Pushing the "ON" button is a lot harder than you think... |
I don't have a vacmaster vp112. Guess I'm SOL. :-(
|
I know I should not encourage him
But it was a pretty good spread . :D

Excellent pictorial on bug cleaning. Smart to cut underside 1st as this is where the nerve ("spinal") cord is and usually paralyzes the flapping tail. That gel-like goo stains so don't do it on patio/driveway without plastic sheet underneath. Be sure to wait until you get home to de-tail as it is illegal to clean it elsewhere. Thanks for sharing!
