Organizing and Storing all that gear
So yes, I am a hoarder when it comes to tackle. I have been collecting gear for about 40 of my 47 years and rarely get rid of any, despite upgrading quality and capability - how many jigmasters do I REALLY need??
So, the question for those of you with a similar inclination, how do you organize and store all that gear? Plano boxes? Rubbermaid tubs? Do you have pre-filled boxes for Redondo, Cabrillo, La Jolla, Dana? Do you have pre-filled boxes for target species? All the extra items organized in back-up boxes? |
Yard sale or I give it away to friends.

I bought a huge black plastic container from walmart it even has wheels and a pull handle. ..cost 20 bucks. It's 40+ inches long and deep enough for 5 gallon buckets.
I throw all my gear in there...seat, bait tank, tackle, pfd, etc. No more multiple trips back and forth to my vehicle. Then it doubles as a kill box big enough to keep 30 lb tails from sliming up my interior. Not going to spend hundreds on a cooler big enough for tails. ..this thing can keep fish on ice or frozen bottled water from the beach to casa no problem. The top can double as a plastic cutting board to clean tails.... Sent from my SM-N900T using Tapatalk |

Here is a pic without the top..the photo doesn't do justice. ..it's a beast...$20
Either bring frozen water bottles to keep fish cool at home or I could swing by the gas stop to throw in some ice but wet burlap and the bottles are good enough for the few minutes back homeAttachment 19013 Sent from my SM-N900T using Tapatalk |
Stacked in random boxes around my bed, living room and kitchen.
Best solution might be to burn my house down and collect the insurance money? I have too many hobbies, so there are too many boxes. I call them "My Treasures" Life is sweet :) |
