Tuna crab
 

I keep seeing pictures of the tuna crab and I keep thinking they look a lot like crawdads. Does anyone eat them? When I look them up on the net it says they are a squat lobster, or type of languistino. Seems to me like they should be good eating but I may be missing something. Who has tried them?

Never tried them but don't see why they wouldn't be good. But there doesn't seem much meat in them. Maybe simmer a bunch to make a stock. The make a "lobster"? Bisque. Mike

I haven't actually seen any in person but they seem to be as big as shrimp. I know I have cooked up batches of crawdads that were that size, then just peeled the tails for etouffee.

"Langostino Lobster" might be the same thing depending on where harvested??

Dave, when you paddle your P2T do you sit in the back seat or the middle position?

When they come out in full force NPH is literally flooded with them. You'll see them all along the sand dying and stinking up the place.

If I'm alone ALWAYS from the center position otherwise the weight distribution is all screwed up. I put a crate in the rear seating position so I have a place for storage, rod holders, etc. I wrapped the bottom frame of the crate in pipe insulation foam so that it wouldn't mar up the kayak since just the sharp corners contact the concaved seating area. I put just a little foam on the crate to allow my seat to recline back against it.

I could use a thicker seat pad though and I'm at a total loss as to where to put my fish finder.

I put my fish finder on the center hatch and when I'm alone I paddle from the center position. I am using a bass pro ascend FS12T seat from the center. I put some extra eye pads on the kayak and lash the seat to it with velcro straps, it is a lot easier on my back than the hard pad.

This I did, but there's no ideal place to secure it forward of the center seating position. I've been using some industrial 3M Velcro on my center hatch, but I use bungees as extra insurance to keep it in place. I'll have to do something similar up front.

I put a ram mount on the hatch for the FF. I was using a portable unit that I would just sit on the hatch but it did move around a lot. i think the ram mount will work better. I don't have a set up yet for when we go tandem.
