Visiting Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
Visiting Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
I got a taxi from where I got off the bus to my hotel. A $50.00 CD ride. Fortunately I shared the cab and only paid half. First penalty for getting off the bus too soon. I was in bed in a great room for the price by about 2:30 AM. Had a good night’s sleep compering to the train. Saturday, July 18, 2016. 1-I woke up in the morning to this view from my hotel window. Love that greenery. http://i444.photobucket.com/albums/q...o/DSCN6224.jpg 2-Later I enjoyed the provided breakfast here in fresh air. http://i444.photobucket.com/albums/q...o/DSCN6223.jpg After getting picked up by the rental car staff and getting my rental car, I started my touring of Vancouver for some shopping and sightseeing. Weather was sort of clouding and glooming. 3-I had researched for a fly shop in Vancouver. There was an excellent one that I had to visit to get some tips and locally productive flies. http://i444.photobucket.com/albums/q...o/DSCN6233.jpg http://i444.photobucket.com/albums/q...o/DSCN6230.jpg http://i444.photobucket.com/albums/q...o/DSCN6229.jpg http://i444.photobucket.com/albums/q...o/DSCN6228.jpg http://i444.photobucket.com/albums/q...o/DSCN6227.jpg http://i444.photobucket.com/albums/q...o/DSCN6226.jpg 4-I had to get some more items, so I drove around with help of my Garmin GPS. http://i444.photobucket.com/albums/q...o/DSCN6237.jpg http://i444.photobucket.com/albums/q...o/DSCN6238.jpg http://i444.photobucket.com/albums/q...o/DSCN6239.jpg May the people who are responsible for providing GPS instruments and everything related to it have a wonderful life and after-life. Such a great invention. 5-Driving in Vancouver to get some sightseeing and shopping done. http://i444.photobucket.com/albums/q...c/DSC_0104.jpg http://i444.photobucket.com/albums/q...c/DSC_0105.jpg 6-I stopped at a restaurant in the Stanly Park for lunch. Mostly for the view. http://i444.photobucket.com/albums/q...c/DSC_0116.jpg http://i444.photobucket.com/albums/q...o/DSCN6240.jpg http://i444.photobucket.com/albums/q...o/DSCN6242.jpg 7-When I saw this, so I asked the hostess if the mouse was on the menu? http://i444.photobucket.com/albums/q...c/DSC_0112.jpg She did not know about the trap. 8-There was on giant bird/squirrel house. http://i444.photobucket.com/albums/q...c/DSC_0107.jpg When the bill arrived, I paid cash. The waitress short changed me $2.00, so that what she got as tip. In Canada, they do not have one or two Dollars bills. The single dollar coin is called unie and the two Dollars one is called twoee. 9-Did my souvenir shopping there and crossed it out my list of things to do. http://i444.photobucket.com/albums/q...c/DSC_0117.jpg 10-There is always an idiot who wants to feed the wildlife, even though there are signs indicating that he should not. http://i444.photobucket.com/albums/q...c/DSC_0118.jpg 11-The scenery from this view point was very popular with the visitors to the Stanly Park. http://i444.photobucket.com/albums/q...c/DSC_0119.jpg http://i444.photobucket.com/albums/q...c/DSC_0120.jpg http://i444.photobucket.com/albums/q...c/DSC_0121.jpg http://i444.photobucket.com/albums/q...c/DSC_0122.jpg http://i444.photobucket.com/albums/q...c/DSC_0123.jpg http://i444.photobucket.com/albums/q...c/DSC_0127.jpg 12-Driving through the Stanly Park. http://i444.photobucket.com/albums/q...c/DSC_0128.jpg http://i444.photobucket.com/albums/q...c/DSC_0131.jpg 13-Lots of high-rise buildings for residents to occupy. http://i444.photobucket.com/albums/q...c/DSC_0132.jpg 14-Leaving Stanly Park via the toll-free Stanly Bridge. http://i444.photobucket.com/albums/q...c/DSC_0135.jpg 15-One of the places that I found on line was this park. http://i444.photobucket.com/albums/q...c/DSC_0161.jpg This one is free, but there is another more famous one that has a fee of $40.00 CD ($37.00 CD for me). https://www.capbridge.com/our-story/ 16-It has a suspended bridge to cross and go down to a trail next to a river. http://i444.photobucket.com/albums/q...c/DSC_0146.jpg http://i444.photobucket.com/albums/q...c/DSC_0147.jpg http://i444.photobucket.com/albums/q...c/DSC_0149.jpg http://i444.photobucket.com/albums/q...c/DSC_0150.jpg 17-How could you forget your shoe??? http://i444.photobucket.com/albums/q...c/DSC_0151.jpg 18-I decided to visit this one and was not disappointed. http://i444.photobucket.com/albums/q...c/DSC_0144.jpg http://i444.photobucket.com/albums/q...c/DSC_0152.jpg http://i444.photobucket.com/albums/q...c/DSC_0154.jpg http://i444.photobucket.com/albums/q...c/DSC_0156.jpg http://i444.photobucket.com/albums/q...c/DSC_0157.jpg http://i444.photobucket.com/albums/q...c/DSC_0160.jpg 19-At the end of the trail, there is a deep pool that is very inviting after a hot and muggy hike. http://i444.photobucket.com/albums/q...c/DSC_0158.jpg http://i444.photobucket.com/albums/q...c/DSC_0159.jpg There are signs warning visitors not to dive into the pool. Danger of hitting sharp rocks in the pool. 20-Later through some visitors at the bridge, I found out about a great Persian restaurant. I wanted to have Canadian food, but there is no such menu. Thus, I ended up in the Persian neighborhood and had a great meal. http://i444.photobucket.com/albums/q...o/DSCN6244.jpg http://i444.photobucket.com/albums/q...o/DSCN6243.jpg In Vancouver, the grocery stores do not sell liquor. Only specialty liquor stores sell them. I guess to keep the selling of alcoholic products under control. Due to being located farther north than Los Angeles, the days are much longer. At 8:00 PM there was plenty of sun! TO BE CONTINUED…. |
