Redondo 6/6
First time kayaking Redondo beach with a couple fellow BWE'ers. Weather was... less than ideal to say the least.
We ventured out to around 300' and the rockfish were hungry. Nice sized models, all of mine on either half mackerel or full squid. They ate the flatfalls as well. Plenty of bass, barracuda, and sanddabs as well. Apparently a giant lingcod straightened out one of the guys' hooks right at gaff, definitely a heartbreaker. https://imgur.com/y5fopS7h.png Follow me on Instagram @nomad.fish |
Are they allowing you in before 7 now?

Aaah, what a pretty picture!
Maybe it has to do with the "sportfishing industry" being still at the docks. That's thousands of fish more for kayakers. But they are coming back... |

Heading out to King Harbor tomorrow morning, PM me if you want to meet up.
Anyone know if I have to pay more if I bring a small trailer to the parking lot? This is the first time I will have fished here so not sure how things work. I plan on arriving around 5am |

Good meter work. That wouldn't look like much on my FF...although I use an older FF with a 3" screen. |

for instance in 400' you would see from 360-400. you can see the bottom color change indicating a resonance off of some hard bottom and you will see dots suspended above that but not attached to anything else. Drop your baits and reel em up 2 at a time. BTW thats a nice lookin outback in the left of the shot :D |
