Brent and I got to play with this a bit this morning. It is pretty f'n cool:D

I'll post more later, we shot some video as well. Sit through the 5.5 minutes just to see my swan dive at the end:D

Not exactly geared to So Cal fishing style other than some fresh water applications and the back bays, but sight fishing in skinny water would be a kick with this. Not a new idea......except for a kayak.

How about a video camera and one afternoon in La Jolla?

I see tons of fish (Yellowtail) that others just paddle on top of and through. It's funny and sad at the same time. Usually, people paddle over the fish to come over and say "hello". Contrary to popular belief, I don't have "eagle eyes," I just pay attention. Being up on my knees is a huge advantage (being able to see fish or not), and I'm able to see fish others can't. With that much height advantage it would be ridiculously easy to see Yellowtail, ridiculous.

My only question : Is the platform stable enough for typical ocean conditions, without someone in the seat?

I see that as the ideal fishing platform for the Darkhorse Kayak Fishing Guide Service. The client has to paddle out to the fishing grounds as Josh stands on the tower, scanning for fish. Just like on those fishing shows from the Gulf Coast; Josh would be up in the tower spotting fish and dispensing precious bits of fishing knowledge. And if the client farms a fish, Josh could teabag him.:eek:

Ditto! I guess I'm old and out of the "know".

I wish I could have gone through life without knowing about such things. Unfortunately, I joined the Navy and learned many things of which I would gladly have remained ignorant. I've witnessed some unspeakable acts perpetrated on the coffee cups of unsuspecting sailors.:ack2: I wish I could say that teabagging is the worst thing that I ever witnessed.......it's not. N

BTW: Never relieve the watch late and then make the mistake of leaving your white hat unattended.
