I was...I thought the launching area will be closed for the next few weeks starting from today. Any idea?

Launch is closed Monday-Friday. You can access the beach 1 block north though.

In front of bathrooms there is 15 minute parking up to the boardwalk. Just need to navigate a few steps to get to the beach.
