Bearings for reels
I took apart a reel that was giving me trouble - looks like the bearings needs replacing. I can either throw out the reel and buy a new one, or have the satisfaction of saving the landfill a bit, save a few bucks and get it working again. But, I can't find a local (near Kearny Mesa) shop that would have small bearings - any ideas?

Here try this one... http://www.bocabearings.com/
I was going to purchase ceramic bearings for my newells when they go bad, -they haven't gone bad yet though! The prices look reasonable and the ceramics are supposed to be the "hot" ticket. Let me/us know how it turns out if you purchase. :reeling::linesnap::bigear: |
try squidco (old town area) or dana bait and tackle (mission bay)both can hook you up and save your reels if the bearings are still made.

Thanks for the tips. Some friends at work suggested Marshall's Industrial Hardware - http://www.marshallshardware.com/ - haven't gone there yet. This isn't a very expensive reel - so the cost of some of these bearings with shipping, and I'm almost at the replacement cost.
