Anchor Trolley?

So as I'm doing research on rigging up my kayak I keep seeing people using a anchor trolley. what is it? why should I have one? and what are the pros and cons?
Thanks in advance. :jig:

Anchor trolleys are used for anchoring to the front...back...or side however you want to position yourself. They also can be used for a drift chute or also a stake out pole. I have one on my kayak and I love it!!!

What I did was to simply run a line from the bow to the stern with just enough slack so it goes along the side of my yak. Then I just drop anchor and loop it on a carbiner that I clip to the line. I can slide it to the front or back of the yak. Leave enough anchor line so that you can pull it back to you. Works great.
