La Jolla 6/13 AM

Conditions were rough. I was able to only get one mack before my knot gave out. The mack turned out to be the only one I needed. This guy measured 27 inches. Weight is unkown. By the way, this is my first YT catch.

Paddle back sucked big time...but it was well worth it.

Congratulations, you earned that one, this morning. I was the first to launch this morning at 4:30. I just did not get my fill of wind SCI :D Water under the lights of the pier looked like chocolate milk, but was blue green everywhere else. Macs were tough and with the sky lighing up I took my three and started SW. Dragging the sabiki I found a few more along the way. Once north of the hotel, I got picked up and landed a 5ish boney. Put another mac out and it was picked up before I put on the clicker. Popped this one off. Threw the Jimijig and got a legal sized cuda on the second cast. Had a few more zinged baits. One looked like more damage than a boney, but it could have been a cuda. NNW wind and south flowing current made for some tough paddling. Left Cris out there and paddled in around 10. The open water breaking waves were bigger than the launch.

way to brave the elements. That wind and current make it tough out there. Hope it dies down for thursday. :?

I'm back. Both arms still attached to the sockets.

Glad you got a pesca for dinner Sleepyhead.

You're right Matt - mucho wind today. It did seem to subside around noon when I landed. Not near the lump as when I launched.

Water is dirty and turned over - not a pleasant sight.

Last week I lost all my bait to the knothead. Today it was to the stoopid loon - or whatever the hell that bird is called. He snagged my primo flyliner and then he dove for my low bait on a 2 oz egg. This freaky kook bird had it it in it's mouth the whole time I reeled back up the line. I thought I hooked the thief - but it had a death grip on the mackie. Made more bait and coould not keep this shitbird off my tail. Tried slamming a surface iron up side it's head - but too crafty for a side sling. Finally gave up and let the loon win. Guess if I didn't have bad luck ----- oh well ------ you know the rest.

Conditions sucked - still had a blast. Back out on Thurs. Shoot - maybe even manana~. Why work when you can fish. :D :D :D

Hahahah, loon. 'Nuther Midwesterner?

Cormorant, maybe?
If they like you here, don't fish Natividad in Early June.
