"Out of curiosity where is the wedge? I've been out of Newport harbor a few times and still am not sure, is it one of the jetties that makes the mouth, or is it a structure? I guessed it was the south side jetty but would like to know for sure."
The wedge is the right side of the jetty known as Balboa Penninsula, excuse my spelling...from shore there is a wicked sudden drop shortly where the wave breaks boogie boarders love it.
