When I launch out of the harbor I buy the pass and then sell the pass to someone else for a couple bucks off it is good until eight that night. Not exactly smiled upon by the harbor police. Be discreet
. I have talked to guys that launch from the dock over by the police station. IM not limber enough to hop in and out from a dock.
