only kept it because my grandpa insisted they were good. He filleted it and froze it. When we had a fish fry a week or 2 later we put a few pieces in the batter a fried iit up. To my surprise it tadted like deep fried clams

Ive seen deep fried clams sold at different resteraunts so that was pretty cool. I have no doubt that not everyone would enjoy that taste though. All in all though they are a lot of work to deal with while on a kayak (or float tube), I would rather just release.
