First time kayak fishing at
malaga cove today.
Got on the water by
6:30 ish because the surf was pretty overwhelming, but was able to get a good timing and get out there.
I fished right by the kelp beds and had few bites with 3" big hammer halloween and some white/silver shad and finally landed 2 small
white sea bass then released.
The wind was got rougher and swells were about 2' ish (not so sure).
I ended up getting drifted in front of the beach away from the kelp beds, but I was keep getting bit by school of bonitos.
Had many bites and few bonitos getting unhooked but was able to land 4 small
bonitos.
Oh yeah, btw the steep hill was a betch...
Does anyone use Big Hammer Halloween color?
I almost never catch anything with it anywhere else...
I am starting to think that malaga cove fishes are new to lures.
