I've launched several times from there and only once was it costly. Just as I was ready to make the clear a rogue wave popped up and crashed on my head. I amazingly pushed right through it but water got into my pocket and it just so happened I didn't have my phone in a baggy so my new Note 4 burned up.
Timing is everything there.
I'm surprised the surf was small there Saturday. The swell was supposed to be 3-5'.
I'm hoping to get out there Sunday if the swell stays down.
