Looks like you might know this anyway Stone, but here's a bit of general knowledge for anyone who might need it.

Good spots are anywhere near structure, especially rocky structure. Bugs live in the rocks, and leave them at night for their food. Try not to drop on the rocks, just near them. Kelp on the surface is always a good indicator you are near some kind of structure, as kelp grows on rocks.

Make sure to hack up your macks or whatever bait you are using a little bit.
Score it with a knife or somthing so the scent leaks out a bit, and the pieces are easier for the bugs to get at, but not so much that they take it all.

Watch for the man in the grey suit. He will take your bait.
