Matt, you can have some fish anytime. But you really should catch your own. :lol: I can give you some numbers or guide you if it will help.
Jim, I thru back 5 nice cali's tonight (like I usually do), because none of them spilt my beer (a captial offense on my boat) and I consider them bait stealing trash fish (except when the wife wants tacos). I don't report all the bonies, barries, calis, spanish, short lings, etc I throw back because, really, who cares.
I think Jim is right about one thing, and that is that people sometimes get the wrong idea about some of us that fish a lot. They think we score all the time and are up to our eyeballs in fillets. They don't notice when two weeks go by and we haven't reported a nice fish. I'm out there 3-5 days a week, every week, all year. I didn't catch a YT in Feb, Mar, April, or May despite putting in close to 400 hours on the water. I didn't catch a point fish from Jan 6th to April 7th. Weeks like last where I load up are the reward for those long stretches of futility. I am not surprised that people sometimes only see the successes, but I am surprised that one of the most experienced people made that mistake.
Personally, I am completely agnostic on C&R. Frankly, I don't consider it my business what anyone else does within the constraints of the law, and even then it's not my job to police or judge. I guess I come from a different culture where the polite response to someone's post would be "Nice fish, thanks for sharing" and any concerns would be dealt with personally. I guess I'm still adjusting to the fact that on this coast it seems every one must have an opinion on everything other people do, and must publicly share that opinion because they are so very important that, of course, everyone wants to know said opinion. I guess it's entertaining in a way. But I think I've got the shameless self promotion thing down. :? :lol:
