A few suggestions....
-There's probably a ton of info you can get from past posts on this site and from the members....
-You're pretty close (I think) to Andy at Sunset Beach OEX. He was into Malibu kayaks before most of us got out of diapers

I'm sure he'd have no problem yakin about Malibu yaks and how to outfit them.
