It's good to know that if I had to, I could feed myself on smelt.lollol
Actually, smelt roe is delicious. Raw it is salty sweet and if you nuke it for 2-3 seconds it tastes like crab. Seriously.

Baby smelt are delicious dusted with a little seasoned flour and deep fried (no cleaning required) with a little of your favorite dipping sauce.
Yeah...we've depleted 90% of commercial fish stocks.....the numbers on bycatch alone thrown overboard are staggering....enjoy it now boys. |
