1/2/2011 Big Bay Report
Thought I wasn't going to get out this morning but I took care of my chores and was able to get out anyway. Met up with a buddy named Robert, and we had a great time breaking in the New Year.
We launched at Tidelands this morning just after 7 A.M. ![]() Sunrise Photo taken by Robert Sloan We paddled out to the channel and started our drift. Robert hooked up on the first cast I farmed one on the first cast. Robert hooked up on a couple of casts later and I farmed another one. The outgoing tide was really strong at times good thing I had a drift sock. at 9 A.M. it was as if the breakfast bell was rung because the bite started going off. I had two lines out and I think Robert did as well. At times I would reel one in and then reel the next one in. Green grubs were the color of choice today and Anchovy color also. Each of us landed about a dozen or more bass all mine came from 9 A.M. to 10:15 when we started paddling back to the beach. Most fish were in the 1 1/2 to 2 pound range. Take my advice don't by the cheap plastic waders from Big 5 the bottom split in them and I was soaked all day. Here are some fish photos.
