We fished off longboards with milk crates bunjeed to the nose years before kayak fishing became popular. Did some diving for lobster on small reefs in North SD County. Eventually, we bought some swimming pool kayaks at a garage sale and used them instead. Did plenty of fishing in SD County and Baja without ever seeing anybody else. Then, like everything else that ten people did twenty years ago; thousands are doing it now.
