I don't no about launching in a rip tide
But launching my canoe in la jolla is a SOB....at low tide.
The current pulls the bow south i think the canyon has something to do with that. I can't hold it straight to hop in, its 17ft long it's a piece of cake if someone holds my bow till I hop in and grab my oars.
