Bay water temps aren't really an indication of anything. If you look at SST maps of the socal bight, this water isn't warm. We have had minimal warm water exotics (as in Marlin, Wahoo, Yellowfin) in so cal waters this year. Bluefin fishing in September is a sign of cooler water.
Also, IMO, inshore fishing is the worst during summer. Bring on the upwelling and big waves at the launch!!!! |
