Cool... I'll start looking up the info on the lowrance x-4... I know the humminbird is good at approx. 600 feet and that is more depth than I plan on fishing... I'm new to the kayak fishing scene and plan on hitting up the shores, come spring...

I was at oex mission bay yesterday checking some of the gear they have and I was very impressed... Unfortunately, they won't be having a black Friday sale... Has anyone checked out REI for fish finders? They usually have some good deals. Just wondering... Thanks.

I actually just got rid of a HB 385i, I wasn't going to say anything but if you are considering Lowrance I would go that route only because I have had issues with HB quick connect head units in the yak, they do have very good customer service but the HB products don't fair so well in our
environment...
