I was out on the Bay yesterday also. Launched from Shelter Island @ 7:30 and picked up a scoop of anchovies. Went across the channel and drifted with the outgoing tide to the end of the jetty a couple of times. Managed 10 halibut from 13" to 21", 3 short Sand bass and 3 octopus.
The weather was incredible and the wind did not come up in the afternoon so I was able to fish until 5:00 pm. Great day on the water. For some reason I just can't seem to get that keeper Halibut.

Get sardines next time.

ack, knew i shoulda hit the bay yesterday. oh well, weathers still holding up, so i'll be out there soon enough!
