Unfortunately they were out of the #8030 CT, or I would have bought one.
I have an 8020 and I'll say that's it's more a 25# rod than 20#. I don't believe there is enough backbone there for a true 30#. It doesn't mean you can't fish it that way, it's just not ideal...
